I am practically flying through The NeverEnding Story.
Just finished with Grograman, the Many Colored Death.
I'm well past where events of the first movie left off, and I think I'm at the place where themes of the second movie are present. (Sort of doing a bit of a compare and contrast between elements present in the book but not present in the movies.) Bastian making wishes and with each wish pieces of Bastian are lost. (Little bit of a spoiler there, but if you're too lazy to read the book, at least watch the movies so you can get a close Idea of what I'm talking about. The wishes were an overall theme and important plot device of the second movie.) While I liked the second movie, I it mostly dull and unnecessarily drawn out. The first movie, based on the first half of the book was much better, IMHO. But the whole book is completely captivating me.
The third movie was so horrible, I think I might have seen it once and then, purposely, forgotten I'd seen it. It was that bad.

I went to a climbing place today. And I'm going to be sore when I get up tomorrow.

Oh and good news, everybody, my short story is done.
I'm going to have Harry look it over and see if he can fix my mistakes and tweak the feels a little. It doesn't feel 100% to me, but it's something and on flash drive.

So I'm making tacos for myself and I'm having trouble getting the meat out. I get about a third of it out and onto the skillet. And while I'm trying to get the rest of it out, the part I did get out starts to burn on one side. So I turn off the burner and move the skillet off until I get the rest of the meat out.

Still having trouble so I cut the other end and just cut the package open to get the rest out. Of course the smoke alarm went off cuz the meat was burnt a little.

Oh the joys of cooking.

In other news, I took Harry out, today.
We went shopping and I took him to dinner.
While we were shopping, I saw a DVD for Return to Oz. We got it and I just showed it to him. It was something he had never seen before and he liked it. I might show it to my brother-in-law this weekend. It's a good movie. Quirky and darker than than the first one, but overall a good movie.

It is if you don't know if it's music or people talking and it sounds like it's coming from inside the house but you know it's somewhere outside

Still reading NeverEnding Story and doing a compare and contrast Book vs Movie type thing when a funny thought occurred to me.

Several times over I've seen the first movie, all the way to the end.  I've gotten to the resolution several times over.  The part where

But when you get to that part in the movie, the audio is so garbled by the background noise of the scene it's practically impossible to make out anything that is said.  (Apparently, ADR hadn't been discovered as a useful tool at that point in history when the movie was made.  ADR, is where you record a piece of dialogue separately to be inserted where background noise would normally kill whatever dialogue is being spoken in a scene.  Post production sound mixing and fixing stuff.)
So anyway that part in the movie was very garbled and I couldn't hear the most important thing that would save Fantastica/Fantasia.  Upon reading the book, I am very pleased at finally learning what was said during that scene in the movie.
