Fugue: Follows Berion and Waltz.

Berion:
"nothing, my Count"

"There is something I wanted to clarify. What I wrote down yesterday...those were just my terms. That wasn't the final contract. I wanted Bakura to know what I wanted but I also wanted to know what he wanted. Then we could meet and discuss it. Though meeting with him now in person will save some time." Waltz cleared his throat. "Show me where he is."

Berion:
"of cause" I take the lead, Waltz behind me and Fugue behind him. It is a long journey and it's already early afternoon when we arrive. more than once I think it would have been a good idea to use a horse, but I am too concerned to really say that.

Waltz looked up at the cave. "Mind getting him to come down here?"

Berion:
I climb the wall again. it's a difficult climb but I reach the top. "hh. h. Bakura? are you there? Count Waltz wants to talk with you face to face."

"Oh? So he comes to me? He actually gets off his arse and travels here to speak to me? How very interesting." Bakura replied.

Berion:
"... yes. so would you please come down to him?"

"Fine. But only because I have nothing better to do." He climbed on Diabound's back and ordered his monster to fly to the ground. He saw Fugue next to Waltz and frowned. "What the bloody hell is this?!" He demanded. "I thought Waltz wanted to speak with me alone and here he brought not one but two bodyguards. What? Are there guards waiting somewhere to ambush me if I try to run?" Bakura grabbed Waltz by the collar. "Answer me!"

Waltz seemed unfazed. "Settle down. I am going to speak with you alone. Fugue and Berion will be nearby so they can protect me but otherwise they won't be part of our discussion. They...and I...what to make sure you don't kill me again."

Bakura let go of Waltz and turned away. "I don't intend to kill you again. I thought...I thought if I could get you to live in my shoes you'd understand how much of a living hell my life was like three thousand years ago and how others in my situation feel. Maybe I was wrong. You...and others in a position of royalty...spoiled and living in luxury while your subjects suffer...you would never understand..."

Berion:
I climb down again and step away from the the with Fugue, watching them from a safe distance. not too close, but also not too far.

"You think I don't understand what it feels like to lose someone close to me? I was about your age when my parents died." Waltz replied.

"Yes but you...you were born into royalty. You had everything you could want. Food, shelter, a bed to sleep in. I had nothing except the clothes on my back. And you say you understand how I feel? I lost everything, Waltz. And you....you lost nothing when I made you live like I did. You didn't have to fend for yourself. Perhaps I failed at what I wanted you to understand."

Fugue: Who had been hanging out listening to the conversation. "You might have failed to teach Waltz about how you lived, having to fend for yourself. But you succeeded in teaching that lesson to Callie."

"I wasn't trying to teach her! Stay out of this, Three-Eyes!" Bakura retorted.

Waltz sighed. "Bakura I know you don't want to be harmed by anyone who might seek revenge on you. I don't either. They could easily attack you and when you fight back in self-defense they lie and say you attacked them. I wanted to come up with a way to avoid that..."

"Of course they would lie. The guards would believe them over a criminal and I'd get arrested again even though I did nothing except defend myself. Hell, I could bump into someone and they'd say I'm assaulting them."

"That's what I want to avoid..." Waltz went silent for a few moments. "How about a truce? Then you won't have to live in fear. The house in the woods you live in--"

"How do you know about that? I killed the scout you sent to arrest me."

"I had others there and they reported back to me. Anyway the house is yours. The land it's on, the lake behind it, and the land all around it for...five hundred meters...is your territory."

"What about the cemetery? I lived there with my wife for a few days."

"I can't forbid you from going there but at the same time I cannot forbid my subjects from going there. Though to avoid trouble I can tell my subjects to return later if you're there already. But then the same rule would have to apply to you."

"Or they can go during the day and I can go at night. But on All Hallows Eve..."

"You want it all to yourself...is that correct?"

"Yes...and it's just one day in the entire year that I'd want it to myself for twenty-four hours..."

"I think I can arrange that...unless there are any objections..."

Fugue: Glares at Bakura over the insullts, but passively listens to negotiations like a good dog.

Berion:
I frown. ~how can Waltz suggest that? earlier he suggested moving it. now he suggests giving it to him. how can he have so little respect for the dead?~ I clear my throat.

Waltz looked at Berion. "Yes? Are you against me letting him hang out in the cemetery at night while the townspeople are asleep and for a full twenty four hours one day out of the year? I'm not making it his property."

Berion:
"I am not against letting him stay there... But I have an issue with denying people the right to visit their dead relatives and friends while he is around."

Bakura turned on Berion. "You have a problem with me wanting to be close to my friends and family one day out of the bloody year? Oh hell...the citizens can have the damn cemetery whenever they want. I won't go anywhere near it except on that day!" He crossed his arms. "No mortal should be around a cemetery I'm in, especially on All Hallows Eve. Not if they value their soul. It's not a threat. It's a warning. Mortals don't survive long in the shadow realm. You should be painfully aware of that."

Waltz sighed. "I don't want to lose any of my subjects. So if I have to forbid them from going to the cemetery when he's there, in order to protect them, I haven't much choice."

Berion:
"but.. no, I have no problem with you spending time with your family. but I have a problem when you kill people or banish them because they are at the same place as you. that cemetery isn't yours and no matter how long you live there, it never will be. it is a last resting-place for the dead."

"When did I say it was mine? Look I need the Shadow Realm's power in order to connect with the sprits of Kul Elna. If I can't tell someone who let's their curiosity get the better of them to leave for their own sake, then it won't be my fault if they get hurt. And did it occur to you that maybe I would want to be alone when I'm there? It's not going to hurt anyone to wait a few hours for me to leave." Bakura clenched his fists. "If I can have the cemetery to myself just for one whole day of every year...that's really all I care about. One bloody day that I will have compared to the three hundred and sixty four days that the people in the town will have. Why is that such a big deal." Bakura turned and glared at Waltz. I thought you and I were going to talk alone. Meaning no one else would be involved in our discussion."

"I did say that. Though we both dragged Berion into it." Waltz replied

"Well he decided to butt in. But I agreed to talk with you and only you."
