Rene:
"I promise I will." I go back to another crying attack. "I love you. I will be the boyfriend you deserve."

Rene: "I wish I could be the girlfriend you deserve, but you don't even like girls so I'll just be quiet."

"that's not true, Rene. there is a girl that I like more than any boy. and that's you."

Rene: "Then why'd you go away."

Rene:
"because I was stupid and blind."

Rene: "And I was naive and too innocent."

"you were not. please stop feeling guilty. you did nothing wrong."

Rene: "Women should be seen and not heard."

"nonsense. women are humans."

Rene: "I don't feel very human."

"you are." I assure her "I made horrible unforgivable mistakes. not any more. I love you and I will keep loving you. I will be the one you deserve, the one you fell in love with. just please stop feeling so miserable."

Rene: "I can't help it, I am miserable."

"You have all right to be after all I did"

Rene: Breaks down crying. "I hate being miserable and I hate being stupid."

"you are not stupid." I stroke her hair.

Rene: "I feel stupid."

"you are not."

Rene: "I am."

"don't make me silence you with a kiss." I giggle and kiss her on the lips."

Rene: Surprised with the kiss, I go silent, returning it.

I pull back after a while but I can't hold back, I kiss her again and again. finally I say "I love you."

Rene: I revel in the kisses. "I love you too."

I run my fingers through her hair. I obviously can't go further than kissing in a hospital. "I hope you can return home soon"

Rene: "I hope so too." A nurse comes in. "Can I go home?" The nurse summons a doctor, the two look at each other, not sure. I am set up with therapy and psychiatrist appointments, then am sent home.

I smile at her. "you hear that. from now on, everything will be better."
