Rene: "But I still have to continue to see doctors. What if they try to convince me that it's wrong for me to want to be a girl."

"then just don't go there. you are who you are and you are wonderful that way"

Rene: "I have to or they'll keep me in the hospital."

"they can't do that. you are not a criminal, they mustn't keep you anywhere"

Rene: "If I'm a danger to myself or to others, they can. Clearly I'm a danger to myself." I raise a bandaged wrist.

"hm, that's true... but he has no right to tell you you should be a boy."

Rene: "I agree. Maybe I should be a boy, though, then maybe my boyfriend would like me better."

"he wouldn't. he can't possibly love you any more than he already does."

Rene: "Even if he doesn't like girls."

"I thought so. but I like you more than any boy."

Rene: "You do? Even if I like to be on bottom all the time?"

"I like everything about you."

Rene: "Even though we both like the bottom and I hog it all the time?"

"even though."

Rene: "What about my teachers? Do you like them?"

"not all, but I can tolerate them"

Rene: "You still hate Mr. Note, don't you."

"...I dislike him, but I don't hat him."

Rene: "It's hard to tell from the way you were yelling at him earlier. Very well, I shall come home."

I decide to say no more. I just take her home.

Rene: I return home, sitting on the couch, happy to be there.

"would you like to eat something, honey?"

Rene: "Not really. My stomach is kind of upset. But if you're hungry you can go ahead and eat something."

(Off to hang with the Harry.)

I go to the fridge and come back with the meal I prepared before this incident. I sit down next to her on the couch and eat. "would you like to play a game, watch a film or anything?"

Rene: "I want to do anything pleasant and fun. There's been too much sadness and rage around here, lately."
