"What makes you think I don't..." Bakura muttered.

Gcar:  Decides to check on the patients.  I notice Callie has gone back to sleep.  I draw her curtain, giving her some privacy, when I hear Bakura muttering to himself.  "I can give you ear plugs to block out her screams if she has another nightmare, so you can sleep."

"No thanks." Bakura sat up. "Where is Waltz? Do you know?"

Gcar: "He likes to hang out in the library. why?"

"If he gets off his high horse I will talk to him."

gcar: "Okay then. You don't have to talk to him if you don't want to."

gcar: I start back for my office, then pause. "With all do respect, Bakura. Waltz isn't the only one that needs to 'get off his high horse,' as you put it, in order to work things out." I shake my head. "It's useless wasting my breath, you don't remember and refuse to listen to anything but your own misery. Good night, Bakura. Push the button, if you need anything." I go back into my office.

"I just want him to leave me in peace. But he refuses to do that because I'm his precious little prisoner he doesn't want to let go of. Perhaps he thinks he can control my family if he has me hostage."

Yubel:
we argue the entire night. eventually I give up and give no more replies but "where is Waltz?"

Milan:
later that night I lie a hand on Callie's eyes and one on her mouth. the skin of my hands is rough and dry. it stinks. I carefully wake her up "don't panic. I am covering your mouth so you can't scream and your eyes so you can't see me. it is important that you don't see my face, Callie. I hope you remember my voice. we met a few nights ago. I am here to offer your help delivering your children. But it will have side effects. no matter if you accept it or not, you have to promise not to tell anyone that I came to you and nobody know about that medicine. can you promise me that?" I remove my hand from her mouth.

"I'm not telling you."

Bakura heard someone speak. He didn't recognize the voice but figured it was coming from Callie's side of the room. He glanced at the call button for a moment debating on whether to press it and get the intruder out of the room--whomever the voice belonged to wasn't supposed to be in here, much less next to her bed--or just wait and see what would happen.

Yubel:
"thank you for wasting my time"
I go search him myself. ~where would I hide if I was a coward?~

Kitty:
I jump onto Bakura's bed. "meow" I groom his cheek

"You wasted your own time by coming in here and choosing to argue."

Bakura blinked at the kitty. "Go away..." he muttered.

Yubel:
"I only asked you where the throne thief is hiding"

Kitty:
I curl up on his chest and purr

"If you'd noticed he wasn't in here you would have saved time by going to look for him yourself."

"You're not supposed to be in here, kitty. That's the rule."

Yubel:
"how should I have known you won't tell me?"

Kitty:
I stretch and meow at him and knead him.

"Why would anyone loyal to Waltz tell you?"

Bakura tried to move the kitty off him. "You're not allowed to be in here."

Yubel:
"because I simply asked for directions. Look, just because we killed, enslaved and humiliated him doesn't mean I'll do it again."

Kitty:
"meow"
(what does Bakura think about cats? Bastet was the goddess of home and family.)

(Except this isn't Neko!Bakura so he doesn't worship Bastet)

"We wouldn't know that. We'd know just as well as you would've known that I wouldn't tell you Waltz's location. Besides you lived in this mansion long enough that you don't need directions to get around."

(well he's Egyptian, but he lost his family. so that's why I asked)

Yubel:
"yes I know where which room is. but in which one is the brat hiding?"

Kitty:
~pet me already~

"I'm not telling you. You'll have to find him yourself."

Bakura rolled his eyes and put the cat on the floor. "Run along, kitty. You can't be in here."

Yubel:
"I'll remember your face. once I am back at the throne you will wish you would have told me"

Kitty:
I jump back on his chest.

"You won't return to the throne."

Bakura sighed.

Yubel:
"I am immortal and time is long. we will see"

Kitty:
I kneed him more. ~pet me~

Bakura ignored the cat.
