A Day In the Life

"Ryou...Claude...no...I..."

Sebastian/Claude: Ignores Bakura and continues eating his meal.

Bakura shook his head. Shit...

Mini Bakura: Moves on. They come to Yami/Atem, standing just watching.

Callie: "Is that...? It can't be."

Fugue: "Just watch, Callie."

Bakura snarled at the figure. "Get a joy out of watching people less powerful than you suffer? I guess when I'm alone and living on the streets you'll lock me up for trying to survive. It must be a crime in your eyes for vermin like me to want to cling onto life. If that's the crime I'm charged with then declare me guilty!" He tried to move in the future's direction to tackle it. He wasn't scared. He never was in the first place. Maybe a little unnerved but not frightened. Now he was angry.

(can't we just say that someone invited Yubel?)

The figure of Yami/Atem morphs when Bakura touches it, moving away from Bakura, it now looks like Callie. The figure of Callie bursts into flames, when the fire goes away, the new image is the unrecognizable charred Callie/husk that was rescued from the mansion when it was under Bakura and Yubel's reign. A new image of Yami appears some distance away, this one grinning and laughing at Bakura.

Callie: I give Fugue a strange look. "I don't know whether to smack you or cry on you."

Fugue: Shrugs. "What?"

(Sure, Kronus, whatever you want.)

Yubel:
I stomp into the mansion, Akefia in one arm, Jesse in the other, the invitation in my pocket. I show it to every guard who tries to arrest me and ask my way around until I reach the room where Fugue and Callie are inside. I enter. "so, what's that punishment for my husband to which you so gently invited me?" I see the monitors "what's that?"

Fugue and Callie: Shush Yubel, we point to the monitor screens. "Watch."

Bakura ignored the figure of Callie and went after the figure of Yami.

I close the door behind me. I don't even think about shutting up. instead I position myself between them and the monitors. "I'll repeat myself. What is that?" I point at the monitors.

The image of Yami continues drifting away from Bakura, leading him to the end of the room. Mini Bakura follows along after Bakura, still chained to Big Bakura's wrist. Yami leads them to the sacrificial area, and a giant scale, then disappears. Yubel appears on one side of the scale, Sa'dia on the other. Kefi and Jesse are playing and crawling on the balance of the scale, causing it to tip to and fro, putting either Sa'dia or Yubel in danger of falling into a pit and becoming part of the sacrifice.

Mini Bakura: Stops, no longer moving, still chained to one of Bakura's wrists. "Mister... you've got to save me family. They're going to be sacrificed."

Callie: Startles noticing Yubel was in the room. I move closer to Fugue.

Fugue: "It's a fun house we've set up for your husband. See? Doesn't he look like he's having fun. Now either be quiet and watch or leave."

"I was invited to this, so I want to know what's going on, three-eyes. So now explain to me what's going on. what's the deal with that whole thing? why is there such a stupid puppet of me and my children? I suppose you didn't do all this to do him a favour, so explain already" I still block the monitors with my body, even spread my wings.

"And what about my family?!" Bakura rounded on the mini him. Your family...that family from 3000 years ago...that family is mine too. And I couldn't do anything to help them. What could a kid do against a bunch of guards?" Bakura ran his fingers through his hair, exasperated. "Ra...dammit."

Fugue: I stand up and forcibly make Yubel sit in a chair. "Bakura's experiencing some challenges in there. None of it is real, it's just to scare him. Now be quiet and watch."

Callie: I try to stay away from Yubel and watch the scene.

Mini Bakura: "Please, Mister, my family... you have to help them."

Jesse crawls on the balance, tilting the scale so that Yubel nearly falls in the pit.

Yubel:
I stand up again. "Explain!"

"I can't help them! Don't you get it? I can't help anyone! I can protect anyone but myself! I'm better off alone where I won't put anyone in harm's way!"

Fugue: "There's nothing to explain. That's it. Bakura's facing dummies and illusions designed to freak him out."

Callie: I continue watching Bakura.

Mini Bakura: "Please, help them mister..."

Jesse returns to her place, saving Yubel. Akefi begins crawling putting Sa'dia in danger.

Yubel: "WHY?!!"

(there is a lot to explain, but everyone leaves poor Yubel confused. If I were in Yubel's place I'd feel absolutely horrible right now. I hate nothing more than being confused and nobody explains)

Bakura ignored the mini him and went towards the scale.

Fugue: "Because. If you watch, you might understand more."

Callie: Getting worried.

Mini Bakura: Remains with it's standing, only allowing Bakura to be able to reach ONE of it's children and possibly be able to save either Yubel or Sa'dia.

Yubel:
I repeat what I said before. I spread my wings further so they cover all the monitors. "Ex-plain. now."

"Making me choose between my wife and little sister?" Bakura clenched his fists. "I've had enough of this game."
