Toccata and Fugue in d minor

Toccata smiled happily.

gcar: Finishes up the exam, I give Toccata a towel to clean the ultrasound gel off her stomach. "That's all there is. I'll need to see you again, every month until the babies are born."

Toccata nodded. "Understood." She turned to Fugue. "Let's get these papers signed by Waltz."

Fugue: Dazed and speechless, I help Toccata off the table and go with her to see Count Waltz.

"Fugue?"

Fugue: I smile at Toccata, happy. "Hmm?"

"Just making sure you were still there." Toccata giggled. They reached the throne room.

Fugue: Walks with Toccata, my arm around her. I am unaware of everything that is not her.

Toccata knocked on the door.

"Who is it?" A voice called through the door.

"It Toccata and Fugue, sir. May we come in?"

"Yes." Said the voice.

Toccata opened the door and walked in. Bowing before Waltz she held out the papers. "Sir...I...need you to sign these."

Waltz took the papers and looked them over. "Maternity leave? Ah. Very well." He signed them and handed them back to her.

Fugue: Has forgotten my manners, I'm not aware of Waltz, my eyes are squarely on Toccata. "I'm going to be a father. Of twins!" I giggle dreamily.

Waltz raised an eyebrow. "Fugue-san?"

Toccata rolled her eyes. "Forgive him."

Fugue: "Huh?" I don't take my eyes off Toccata.

"Come on. Let's go to our room. I need a nap."

Fugue: "That's fine, mother." I open the door for Toccata.

"I'm not your mother."

(So...you control Melody and I control Harmony or vice versa?)

Fugue: "But you're going to be mother to my children. I might as well get you used to hearing it, now."

"Whatever you say, daddy." She stuck her tongue out at him and then crawled into bed.

Fugue: Crawls into bed with her, not even bothering to check the schedule to see if he's on shift that day.

"Silly man. I'm the one on maternity leave, not you." Toccata teased

Fugue: "What?"

"Never mind."

Fugue: Snuggles with Toccata.

(Shall Waltz or a guard enter the room to yell at Fugue for being lazy and forgetting his job?)

A guard came in to yell at Fugue and Toccata.

"Leave him alone. We just got back from vacation in Baroque to see my parents. And if you noticed the papers on the desk you'd see I'm on maternity leave so you have no right yelling at me either."

"I bet you forged this handwriting." The guard said, looking at the paperwork.

"Shut up. If you don't believe me go talk to Dr. Gcar and Waltz to see if I'm telling the truth or not. Now get out of here!"
