Memories

"It was just a sudden thing, doc." Yami glared at Yubel and moved closer to Callie. "You don't touch her."

Yubel:
"pff, nothing new that your kind orders monsters like me around, Pharaoh." but I don't touch her.

Rene:
"yes, please"

"She's my girlfriend. I'm only trying to protect her from you." He glanced over at Bakura. "And him. He may have lost his memory but when it does come back he'll be a threat again."

"Oh I'm not a threat if I have amnesia, Pharaoh?" Bakura retorted.

"Not much. At least not to anyone but me."

Gcar: "Lay back, Callie." When Callie does, I begin pressing gently on her stomach. "How does this feel? Does it hur- Huh?" I press the spot again. "Hold on." I wheel over an ultrasound machine, grabbing a gel bottle. "This will be cold." I squirt some gel on Callie's stomach. Using the wand of the machine over the area I was feeling. "Callie... you're pregnant."

Callie: I try to sit up. "Pregnant?"

"But she can't have children thanks to those two." Yami said nodding at Yubel and Bakura.

Yubel:
"shall we show him how much a thread you are, my Thief King?" then I hear what the doctor says "Callie is pregnant? oh that's wonderful! congratulations, Callie"

Gcar: "Excuse me. Doctor/Patient confidentiality." I gently push Yubel away and pull a privacy curtain around Callie's bed, so that only, she, Yami, and I are interacting. If Yubel listens in on the other side of the curtain, oh well. "I don't know how to explain it. Callie is pregnant." I turn the monitor on the Ultrasound to show them the baby. "It appears to be about two weeks old." I purse my lips. "Callie... your insides are still messed up from what Yubel and Bakura did to you. There's no way you can carry this baby full term and have both of you live. I recommend you terminate the pregnancy."

Callie: I stare at the tiny peanut that is my baby, with wonder. I'm not even aware of the doctor's presence until she says 'terminate the pregnancy.' After a long pause, I shake my head. "I can't do it, doc. I can't kill this baby. Is there anything you can do for my health and the health of my baby?"

Gcar: I smirk. "I can recommend bed rest and an extended stay in the infirmary to monitor your condition. That's the best I can do."

(Ollen)

"What about the revival magic of this world? That would do...something, right?" Yami asked.

(and Bakura's reply?)

(I don't have anything for him to say right now)

(Yubel asked him a question)

(yeah I don't know how I want him to reply)

Gcar: "Maybe the revival magic of this world might do something to revive her, 24 hours after dying in childbirth, but if the baby is still born and miscarried, it'll be gone for good. Also if Callie dies while still being pregnant, her baby dies, too and can't be revived. We'll take every precaution to keep her alive during the pregnancy. We'll take the best care we can of Callie and her baby to ensure that both survive this long process."

Callie: "Thank you, Doctor. Of course, if a time came where I was gone for good, but my baby was fine and still here, I'd like it to be raised and cared for by it's father." I bring a hand to my face blushing from embarrassment. "Listen to me, calling my child an it. Do we know the gender of the baby, yet?"

Gcar: "It's too early to tell that, still, with just the ultrasound. Sorry. Callie will have to stay in the infirmary, instead of her room, during the pregnancy. Also there is no 'relations' allowed in my infirmary."

Callie: Looks at the doctor. "But what about my..." I whisper so that if Yubel and Bakura are listening they can't hear. "nightmares." My voice returns to a normal level. "I can't sleep alone."

Gcar: "You won't be alone, Callie. I'll be in my office in the next room and Bakura is also recovering in the infirmary. The only thing I ask is that you don't bother him when he doesn't want to be bothered. You'll know he doesn't want to be bothered by the curtain around his bed." I pull back the privacy curtain from around Callie's bed. So Bakura and Yubel can hear the explanation of what the curtain is used for. "As you both can see, both of your beds have a curtain around them. These curtains are for your privacy. When the curtain is drawn, the only ones allowed near you and your beds are me, the doctor, and immediate family, brothers/sisters, your children, your spouse, and so on. I'll make an exception for Yami visiting Callie, since he's her boyfriend and the father of her child, but if the curtain is closed, everyone else has to stay away from the patient's bed. This goes for Callie and Bakura equally. So if Bakura's curtain is closed, Callie and her friends and relatives can't go near him to bother him. If Callie's curtain is closed, Bakura and his friends and relatives can't go near her to bother her. Okay, for everyone." I hand Callie a towel so she can clean herself up from her exam. "You'll be fine, Callie. We'll take good care of you and your baby. Don't worry."

Ollen: "Do you want to let your supervisor know you quit or just walk out?"

"I can't stay with her then? Alright I understand." Yami replied. He looked at Callie. "Don't worry. I'll visit you every day. Also I'm going to go over to your work so they know what's going on since you'll be out of work for awhile. I'll do that now." He turned and left to deliver the news to Callie's boss and coworkers

Bakura hadn't replied to Yubel. He wasn't sure what to say.

Callie: I clean myself up, then give Yami a hug, before he goes. "Thank you."

Gcar: "Hold up, Yami." I give Yami a note to take with him to give to Callie's boss and coworkers.

Callie: When Yami goes, I give a little smile to Yubel and Bakura. "Finally, a chance to be happy, like you two."

"Think I'm happy at the moment?" Bakura muttered.

Callie: "Why wouldn't you be? You have someone that cares about you, your family is around you, nobody is hurting you anymore. I'd say your life is pretty good at the moment. Why aren't you enjoying it?" I pause for a moment. "A-after wha-what you and Yubel did to me, I never thought I'd have a chance at a life half as good as the one you currently have. You're lucky, Bakura."

"You call losing your memory lucky? Look I'm only just barely starting to remember things. I...I..."

Callie: "You're memory will come back, don't worry about it. But do you believe we're telling you the truth about things?"

"I don't know what to believe."

Callie: "You believe your sister, don't you? Heh. I suppose you don't. Even when you had your memory, you didn't listen to her much."

"My sister..."

Callie: "Yes. Sa'dia is your sister. I thought she might help you with your memory so I went to your home to get her for you. It seems she helped a little bit, so that's a good thing. You'll get better Bakura, it just takes time. In the meantime, follow your instincts. What do they say about the people and places around you?"

"They accuse me of killing Waltz, hurting you and that Rene person, taking over. Which I couldn't have done. I just got here. They have to have me confused with someone else."
