Memories

Callie: "Bakura, I saw, what you did to Rene, I have no reason to lie about that. As for what ha-happened with me. You may not have directly been involved in all the torture, but you still handed me o-over to your wife so she could do your dirty work for you. I didn't see you kill Waltz directly, but I was there when he was revived." I shake my head. "I still have nightmares from it and no I'm not mistaken. Other than Ryou, who's body you share, there aren't two of you. Not here, anyway."

Bakura blinked. "You bring up my Landlord. Tell me. Was he harmed in any way?"

Callie: "No. You tried pranking him, once, by getting him arrested in the mansion's vault. But I got him out of it, before he could get hurt."

"I use the kid as a scapegoat sometimes." Bakura shrugged.

Callie: "Yeah, but still. I didn't want him to get hurt. " I go quiet for a little while. "I hope you get your memory back and feel better, Bakura."

"Why would I want to remember all of it? I mean I could remember...I could remember...my new family...but what if I didn't want to remember the other stuff?"

Callie:  "You don't want to remember the other stuff?"  A thought occurs to me.  "Bakura, do you think that the reason you can't remember the rest of the stuff, is because you don't want to?  Bakura, are you sorry for that other stuff?"

Yubel:
I listen closely to the conversation between my friend and my husband. finally I interrupt with a little cough. "please don't pull him into this. most of it was my doing. He can't remember his crimes because they weren't his. I am the evil one. He might not be an angel, but nearly all the severe stuff came from me." I pause for a while. "Bakura, I am sorry that you are married to a monster like me. without me you would be free and nobody would accuse you for anything."

"Maybe it was because I hit my head. Ever thought of that?"

Callie: I turn to Yubel. "Could he not said or done something to make it stop? He chose to sit back and do nothing wh-while y-you..." I gasp. "While you.." I shake my head, unable to finish. "And then, all because I saw him mug and kill someone... h-he chased me to my house and dragged me to you, for more pain, torture, and misery." My voice drops to a whisper. "No matter how hard anyone tries, my scars will never fully heal." I level a gaze squarely at Yubel.

Callie: To Bakura. "Then why won't you let the doctor treat your head? Gcar's good at that stuff, no matter how Yubel slanders and attacks her."

"Yeah like she can cure my memory loss by doing that..."

Yubel:
"yes okay, he isn't an angel and he didn't stop me. but I am the guilty one. please stop accusing him for my crimes." I gently stroke Bakura's back "and please don't say anything bad about your life either. I know I made it urm, difficult and painful for you, but you also have friends, a home, a job, a lover, children...

(I am having an idea. Milan. he could help Callie. with some consequences. bad consequences. like she would become his slave and addicted to him, as well as her children. but he could make sure that the children are delivered safely. at night he could make that offer)

Rene:
"yes, I think that would be better" I go to the supervisor and explain that this job isn't giving me what I was hoping for. after that I leave with Ollen.

(Are you forgetting, my future plans for Callie, Kronus? Unless you want Milan to be the one that fills the one blank role in my plans.)

Callie: "I've come a long was from where I was. For awhile, I was trying to blend into the walls. If it wasn't for the revival magic of this world, I would have taken my own life... ages ago. That's how much agony and misery I was in. You wanted to break me, Yubel. You came close. I hit rock bottom and didn't know how to get out of it."

Gcar: "So you'll let me treat your head wound, Bakura? We can begin, now, if you like?" I slowly approach Bakura."

(Oh, and I knew I forgot something. Callie's child will be a girl, I'll control her, Ebil can pick the name.)

Ollen: On our way back to the mansion, we run across Yami. "Hello, we haven't met." I bow with a flourish. "I'm Ollen. How do you do?"

(well, it's a suggestion. but I would gladly let him fill him the hole. what is the hole?)

Yubel:
"yes. but I only came close. you won. you were always stronger than me."

(sorry, I was gone for a while)

"I never said I was going to let you do anything to it...doctor." Bakura growled. "Unless of course by doing so you'd cure my memory loss."

Callie: "Didn't feel like I had won, to me. I felt so miserable and broken, I was ready to give up."

Gcar: "Treating your head injury might help restore your memory. So will you allow me to treat it? You're the patient, I'm the doctor. Despite all my skills and knowledge, I can't do anything without your agreement. It's easier to help someone, if they're willing to be helped. They're less likely to fight, that way. I have no interest in fighting with my patients."

"How? How would that help at all?"

Gcar: "The bump on your head is pretty swollen, perhaps if we reduce the swelling, your memory will return. If I make the bump go away, it won't cause you pain anymore or mar your pretty face." I smile. "It won't hurt to try."

"The swelling is preventing me from remembering things? Then why have I already started to?"

gcar: "It could be being around your family's jogged something in your memory of them or the swelling's gone down a little on it's own. If the swelling's gone down on it's own, it doesn't hurt for us to help it along, and make the bump go away entirely all that much faster."

Bakura lay down again and turned over to face the wall. "..."

gcar: "Bakura, do you want your head wound treated or not?"

"...."

gcar: "I need a definitive answer, Bakura. Or is Callie right? Do you not want to remember the bad things you did in this world and just enjoy the fact that you have a family, once more."

Callie: "Maybe he's upset that he'll have to go back into the dungeon after he's well won't get any time with his family. I might know an alternative. It's still confinement and punishment, but at least he'd get to spend all the time he wants with his family."
