Gcar: "I have two policies. 1. Don't judge. 2. If a person is sick, treat them. While I might not like the things he did in the past, it's not my place to refuse him treatment, if he's sick. What if someday you needed help and he was the only one you could go to for it, would you ask him for help or would you suffer?"

Callie: I look stoically at Bakura. "If there was no other choice, I suppose I would."

(Interesting note: In this country, even for criminal inmates on death row. (Scheduled to be executed) If they are sick and require medical treatment, they are given it.

My dad was a maximum security prison guard for many years in my childhood. So I do know a little about the prison system, here.)

(I agree that criminals should get medical treatment. but saying "he mustn't be shot while he has a cold" seems a bit stupid. I am against death penalty anyways.)

Rene:
"fine, so he gets executed when he is feeling better?"

Gcar: "Pretty much."

(I'm neutral on the death penalty. I see the need for it, because some pricks need to be euthanized for committing horrible, traumatic, heinous acts and those fuckers sitting in prison do nothing but waste time and money just by being there. But at the same time, make sure the courts convicted the right person.
What I do have issue with involving death penalty cases, is sometimes victims' family members are allowed to witness the execution. IMHO, that does nothing but foster this vicious, bloodthirsty need for revenge and killing someone isn't going to bring back that loved one that was lost. Get the victims' families some grief counseling and let go of that rage and pain in a more healthy fashion, instead of watching some guy get a needle in their arm.)

(actually an execution is more expensive than live long prison. don't ask me why.
killing them isn't necessary to keep the rest of the population safe. it only saves money in your opinion. So you are saying, "when a human costs more money than he gives, he has to die unless I like him." must murderers and rapists had jobs. they are not useless. but when you lock them up in prison they have little chance to be useful.)

Rene:
I glare at Bakura "enjoy your last days on earth"

(It costs more than you think it does for someone to sit on death row, waiting to be executed. There are all the fees for public defenders, court costs just to appear in court, the fee to sit in prison, fees to mount appeals to get the conviction overturned, if possible. A person can easily sit on death row for years before they're actually get the needle. As for the cost of the execution, that goes to procuring the medication to kill the inmate, and the cost to administer it properly.)

Callie: I make a face. "Rene, that's an ugly thing to say."

Fugue: "I'm the only one allowed to be that ugly among the two of us."

(I know that it's more expensive to execute. I just said so.)

Rene: I sigh "fine, I am sorry Fugue, I am sorry Callie, I am not sorry, Bakura"

Callie: "If he bothers you that much." I draw the curtain preventing Rene from seeing Bakura and being bothered by him. "Better?"

Fugue: I put my arm around Rene, pulling him into my lap. "Focus on something other than Bakura, Rene."

Rene:
"yes. yes you are right. I am sorry. I came her to congratulate for your child, not for fighting... him." I lean against Fugue and sigh. I mutter to myself "it was terrible to see him again" and then add in normal voice "how are you feeling, Callie?"

Callie: "I understand how you feel, Rene. But let it go. There's no need to get ugly over something that's done and over with." I smile. "I'm feeling wonderful and happy. I was surprised when the doctor told me I was pregnant. I... didn't think I could have any after... it all. There were times, I'd feel a little jealous when Yubel would bring the kids by to see Bakura. Now..." I let out a happy sigh. "I think my luck is finally changing, for the better. I'm glad. I always wanted kids, someday, with a man I loved and chose."

Rene:
"Callie, it's so wonderful that you will have children. may I... well, listen to them?"

Callie: "What do you mean, listen to them? Through the heart monitor on the ultrasound or...?"

(By the way, Ebil. While there are rules that go along with the curtain, that must be obeyed. The curtain is still a curtain. Sound can still travel beyond it. So Bakura can hear the conversation Callie is having with her visitors.)

Rene:
"actually I meant if I could maybe" I am feeling uncomfortable "lie my ear at your stomach."

Callie: I smile. "Oh! Okay, I don't mind. That is if you don't mind being so close to a girl." I tease.

Rene:
I think about a good reply but I just can't think of one so I just lie my head on her stomach and listen.

Bakura had been listening. "An execution would be a waste of time. I would just revive the next day or did you forget?

Look the only reason I'm here is because some idiot mortals took me from my home and abandoned me in a building. I have no memory of what happened before that, other than my past and I'm only just starting to remember things."

Callie: I remain still and quiet, allowing Rene to Listen.

Fugue: After a few minutes of watching Rene listen to Callie's stomach, I smirk, teasing him. "Careful, Rene, or I'm going to get jealous watching you lay on Callie, like that."

Rene:
I look up and towards his bed "I don't care if you lost your memory. you were a monster from the very first day in this world. if you lost all your memory about this world, you'd still be a monster."

Rene:
after that I turn to Fugue "well her stomach sure is softer without all those sexy delicious muscles" I kiss him on the cheek.

"What have I done since I lost my memory? Nothing except sit on my arse. You have no right to call me a monster. If anything you are the monster for being so eager to have me executed. If you want me dead so badly why don't you just come over here and kill me? Go on. There are plenty of things in here you could kill me with. Or are you a coward?" He spoke the last word with an edge of hatred.

Rene:
"I have all reason to hate you. you think because you lost your memory you are free from all sins? no, my dear, I know you better than that. when you first came here, on the first day, you made me your personal slave and raped me. this world didn't change you, you were a monster all along and the only reason I am not killing you myself is because I am too disgusted by your face to get close to you."

Gcar: "Let he who is without sin, cast the first stone." I look at both Bakura and Rene on opposite sides of the curtain. "Callie's curtain is closed, meaning she doesn't wish her or her visitors to be bothered by you, Bakura. By that same token, there is no reason for Callie's visitors to shout and antagonize other patients in the infirmary, Rene. Bakura, ignore Rene if he insults you. Rene, if you continue to shout and argue with Bakura, you'll be asked to leave. Are we clear, children?"

Callie: "Rene, Bakura, please stop fighting. I don't want my visitors to have to go."

"I wasn't like this always. You know who made me a monster? It was the Pharaoh. Or rather his father, but Yami bears the weight of the guilt now. His father didn't bother to ask about how the items were to be created. He failed to prevent it from happening. And furthermore he did nothing to help me. I was just a child when my friends and family were slaughtered. And when I did everything I could just to survive I was thrown in prison. Yes, I stole food. It was a crime to steal food. But do you think anyone would have helped me when they knew where I came from? No. They'd rather I starved to death while they stuffed their faces." Bakura clenched his fists. "My desire for revenge kept me going. Gave me a purpose. But I was never always a monster."

(There's also the fact that you have a demon possessing you but that's a different story

And oh god I am so tempted to bring in Neko!Bakura just because of the hilarity and confusion it could cause)

Gcar: "ENOUGH!!"

Callie: Bakura's rant threw cold water on my joy. I feel sad and guilty. I'm pregnant with Yami's baby and his father did such terrible things to Bakura and his family and Bakura hates Yami over it and that must mean Bakura hate me, too. I wipe tears from my face.

Fugue: "Callie, don't cry over what that ass is saying." Not liking seeing Callie cry, I start to march over to Bakura's side of the curtain to kick Bakura's ass.

Gcar: I grab Fugue by the arm. "Oh, no you don't. I warned you once that you are not to attack patients in my infirmary. GET OUT!" I hurl Fugue out of the infirmary, then I turn and face Rene. "You want to go, too?"

Callie: I look, sadly, at Rene. "Go on, Rene. I'll be okay."

Gcar: I escort Rene out of the infirmary.

Callie: I lay down and bury my face into my pillow, trying to muffle my sobs.
