The World Has Gone Insane!

Rubellite Tourmaline nods to the first part of what she says, very well knowing that the rebel wants them all to leave everything be.

"Yeah, She's wanting us to not mess up things here. As if I'm ever going to take orders from a lowly gem like her." She crosses her arms. "And yeah. It's not like he can do anything about it. Besides, there's plenty of room here. Nobody should have to ask for a place, especially us." Then she nods once more. "I shall escort you to the training room, then." With that, she motions for her to follow and begins walking, taking the path she remembers to the training room. As she walks, she goes on to explain a bit about herself. "Since you already know my name, I should at least tell you a brief summary of my past. I'm a former fighter, now tech worker, that serves under Yellow Diamond. Soon after the rebellion, I was taken from my fighting position and put into tech work. Ever since then, other Rubellite Tourmalines that were produced were made with the innate purpose of working on tech, not fighting like I was. It was all because of the electrical capabilities I was discovered to have. I dislike my current work, but I shall remain forever loyal to my diamond. The good part about it at least is being able to travel from planet to planet more frequently."

As Hambergite walks along, she can't help but notice one particular door before they arrive at the ballroom. She stops at it, looks it over, and then opens it out of sheer curiosity to find that a pool was on the other side. Upon seeing it, she smiles.

"It's nice to know that this place even has such a grand pool!"

Even if gems automatically adjust to the gravity of certain areas, she's sure there's some sort of flotation devices around to keep her afloat instead of letting her sink to the bottom of the pool with nothing to her.

"I understand. If I were pulled from my assignment as one of Blue Diamond's bodyguards, or rather being a bodyguard in general, I'd be upset as well." Obsidian was quiet for a moment. "To be perfectly honest, I was surprised when Blue Diamond chose me. I would have been happy being assigned to protect any gem. I don't have great eyesight, hence the glasses. I chose them over a visor because they worked better for me. Blue Diamond told me was impressed with my strength and fighting skill despite my poor eyesight."

Topaz walked over to the pool and sat down, dangling her feet in the water. "Water feels nice."

Rubellite Tourmaline at least felt a little better when Obsidian understood how she'd feel. Some gems did, some didn't. Those who didn't would usually tell her to accept it and move on, though. When she hears how she was picked above the others for how she was, even she was slightly filled with wonder. "What is your experience as a fighter and such, then? Were you some pretty important general that lead any Blue Diamond troops?" She looks from her to the path ahead of them. "I obviously wish that I could've stayed as I was, a fighter. Wish I could've gotten higher in the ranks there too. Continued to hope that I might have a chance to be switched back to be more efficient, since I pretty much excel at what I'm passionate about. I don't think that'll be happening any time soon, though. Rubellites like me are small, a potential weakness, and most of the original Rubellite fighters are shattered. What the majority is now are techie Rubellites, so I don't think they'll be putting me out there again since there's so few of us made with the intention to fight and since they don't plan on switching our production over to that again. We just wouldn't be that strong a force in their eyes, I guess, especially since we're mostly only useful when electricity is involved. Storing it, releasing it, absorbing it, withstanding it... Charges that could destabilize or shatter a normal gem are nothing to us. That's why whoever watches over us has to have a special destabilizer handy, one that was made for our kind."

Hambergite comes over and sits down, doing the same after she phases away her shoes. Then, she smiles. "Yeah, it does. The cool, refreshing, and relaxing wetness of it can really help on a particularly hot day."

"I did do some fighting, yes. Minor skirmishes with rebel gems but I guess someone told Blue Diamond about my telekinesis. In a pinch I can make anything a weapon, so if I can't summon my sabre quickly enough I make do with what's around me. The downside is that I can't lose focus, which is why I tend to keep a level head in the heat of battle." Obsidian changed the subject. "Besides us and the rebel, are there any other gems here?"

"So uh...tell me about yourself." Topaz said, trying to strike up a conversation.

(I just thought the gems went around barefoot lol)

RT found Obsidian even more impressive after she hears about her unique ability. A kind of ability like that would be quite useful. "That's really neat! Must be a pretty useful ability." Then, on the topic of other gems, she nods. "Yeah. A so-called neutral gem is here, and that's the last of them. She may claim be neutral, but she does have a certain hate for homeworld gems." Soon enough, they finally arrive at the training room.

As Hambergite moves her feet back and forth in the water, she takes a moment to think about what to tell her. "Hm... Personality-wise, I'm generally a happy gem. I like to make others feel happy, and I want to help heal others if they're hurt. Have a pretty big fear of death, though." She frowns slightly at the last bit of what she said, but then she gets rid of the frown. "Ability-wise, I guess I'm pretty unique. Very few healers were made, and I happened to be one. My other abilities include transparency and being able to create one exact double of myself that mirrors my moves, but dissipates away to nothing of others other than I touch it. Transparency is pretty useful. It's pretty much like I'm invisible, but you can actually manage to see me if viewed at in a certain light."

"A hatred towards Homeworld gems but she's not a rebel. I wonder..." Obsidian muttered. She shook her head. "Nevermind." When she arrived at the training room she opened the door. The place was impressive. Sure, not nearly as advanced as the training center she went to every morning, but it would do.

(I just have this thought of Sidi getting RT to go jogging with her early in the morning. Like, way early in the morning. As in 4 am)

"Well you know a bit about me and my past and all. I can sense auras and manipulate wind. I guess you could say a slight connection with nature in general. Like I noticed the damage to some of the trees in the forest and the patches of dead grass. Things like that tend to catchy eye pretty quickly."

(( She'd be up for it, given gems don't need sleep and she doesn't practice sleep much at all xD ))

RT let that subject be dropped since Obsidian said 'nevermind' to it. Then, upon arrival to the training room, she enters after she does and glances around it once more. It's no homeworld training facility, but it was decent enough for something earthen. It was at least usable.

"Certainly not like a homeworld training facility, but decent enough. So, since we're here, I might as well tell you about what this place is, so far as what I heard goes." And with that, she explains what she knows about crossover to her.

Hambergite nods slightly. "Those abilities are pretty net, being able to control the wind and all. Haven't met a gem that could do that before." She looks at her with a smile.

(I figure Sidi sleeps once in awhile since I imagine telekenisis is a bit taxing on the mind)

"A place with revival magic? So even humans don't die permanently." Sidi crossed her arms. "Doesn't mean they don't die at all though."

"Yeah." Topaz lay back and looked at the ceiling, kicking at the water with her feet.

(( Ah o/ ))

RT nods. "Yeah. Even with revival magic stuff, that rebel gem still doesn't want us offing anyone. Still, I'll do that if I feel like it." She takes a glance around the training room before looking back at her. "Is there anything you wish to do here before going to look for a room to take? I can understand if you want to blow off some steam if you're upset about winding up here. If you need assistance or want a room near mine though, I can help with that."

Hambergite remained sitting instead of lying back, and instead looked at Topaz as she laid back. "If you want, we can spend a little more time here before going to the ballroom if you want."

(( splash each other with water ))

"I think I do want to beat something up." Sidi spied a training dummy and slammed it against the farthest walk with her telekenisis.

"A little bit." Topaz smiled mischeviously and then say up and splashed Hambergite.

(Wall dammit! Not walk. Wall! Darn touchscreen!)

Rubellite decided to watch this time, wanting to see how Obsidian would go about beating whatever training dummy up. Would she do so by weapon, or by her telekinetic abilities? She soon finds out, watching in mild amazement as she makes one of the dummies fly and hit the farthest wall. "Cool..."

When Hambergite got splashed with water, she blinked in surprise before realizing what happened. Smiling back a bit mischievously as well, she goes on to splash some water at Topaz too. If she wanted a little splash fight, she'd certainly give her one!

"Hm...you want to do some target practice?" Sidi lifted the dummy and a couple others in the air. "Hit them before they land on the ground."

(I was thinking Tope falls into the pool and Ham rescues her)

When RT hears her proposition of target practice, she nods with a smile. "Yeah!" With that, she summons her sword from her gem. "Understood. I'm ready when you are."

(( Rescues her? Gems don't need to breathe air like humans do ^^' ))

Hambergite chuckled a little more and splashed her back.

Sidi tilted her head to one side. "My personal best is fifteen. Think you can top that?" She waited a few seconds and then, giving no warning she let the first dummy drop. It was the one she had slammed against the wall earlier and it had gone limp, as if whatever was holding it upright had snapped. She would keep letting them fall in five second intervals until RT missed one.

"Hey, you wanna have a race?" Topaz asked.

When presented with a sort of challenge like that, RT donned a determined look. "I think I might!" Personally, she hoped that she could. Sure, she may be a pretty experienced fighter, but it has been a while since she had any real fights or any real longer periods of training. She might be a little rusty, she might not be. That, and id a Blue Diamond guard was able to have a record of fifteen, then she was likely going to get a lower score anyways. That, and size could even play a factor in this. She was smaller, and not letting a dummy hit the floor would be particularly difficult for her. There's so much distance for Obsidian to cover while only she has so little. Still, she wouldn't give up based on that though! Since she had her eye on her, when she saw the first dummy drop with no warning, she was quick to hit it up with her sword first. As she continued to drop more, she used her sword some while sometimes she simply kicked one up or punched one up. She continued to do the best she could until she couldn't do so anymore, which was when a dummy finally hit the ground. She was a bit disappointed because of it, but at least she did decently. Got a count not too under Obsidian's, and likely one that could at least be pretty respected.

At the mention of a race in the midst of their little splash fight, Hambergite got a little interested. "A race? Sure! To where, though? If we don't know where to... We can always hope that there's some sort of track field?"

(So I'll estimate thirteen or fourteen perhaps? Sidi has a handicap when she does it because she actually throws the dummies herself so she has to multitask)

Sidi smiled. "Not bad. I actually created that training workout myself. You're the first to get that close to my score." She paused and looked away, slightly embarrassed. "I haven't even surpassed it yet. Closest I've gotten is eleven and you topped that."

"A swimming race maybe?" Topaz asked.

(( Yeah, around that range o/ ))

When RT sees her smile and hears her say that, she can't help but smile happily. "It's a pretty nice workout, and that's awesome! Didn't know I'd be the first to get that close. Guess I'm not as rusty as I thought I was after all!" Though, when she sees her look away and hears her say the next part, she blinks, a bit surprised. "Oh..."

Hambergite was a bit interested in that proposition. "Sure, just so long as we keep ourselves afloat and actually don't sink. Sometimes the ability all gems have to make them adjust to the gravity of certain things can make one sink down into the water without a flotation device, or without any force of swimming to keep them up and above the water."

"It's more that I haven't perfected my technique yet. I do it on my own so I end up having to multitask dropping them and hitting them. It's fine though. I'm impressed. If I could, I'd appeal to Blue Diamond to see if she could do something about getting you out of that tech job. Seeing your skill and knowing you're getting cheated out of your true potential as a fighter...I don't like it."

"You're right. I wonder..." Topaz drifted off in thought.

(Shape shifting some sort of flotation device? Idk)

RT slowly nodded in understanding, getting the sort of issue she had there. "Ah, I see how that might be a bit more difficult then. Still, if you managed to get 15 at once all by yourself, then that's impressive, even if you can't catch up to it just yet since you still need to perfect your technique." Though when Obsidian mentions what she could do if it was possible, she felt really grateful, even if it couldn't be done at the moment. "Wow... I'm really grateful that you'd be willing to do that, even if it can't really be done right now. The whole thing still means a lot to me, especially since I was made to fight in the first place. It's what I'm passionate about and best at."

(( They can do that or simply use their arms and legs to just swim
their bodies may adjust to the gravity, but water is still a liquid they can move/swim through if they put forth the effort to swim. If they do nothing, they just sink to the bottom. Swim and such, they can move through and up to the surface of the water o/ ))

"Our bodies may automatically adjust to the water and all, but we can still swim if we try. Doing nothing but standing or just walking will make us sink to the bottom. If we actually do try and swim, we'll swim." Hambergite smiles slightly. "I mostly know this stuff because, after the issues surrounding the days when i first emerged, I was picked up by rebel gems that helped to teach my basic gem biology and such."

"If we were in the same faction it would be simple. I'd just ask Blue Diamond directly about it and show her your potential, even offer to train you myself. That's not the case though. Since you serve Yellow Diamond, she makes the decision, and if she says no then there isn't much I can do."

(Well it's Olympic size so it's not going to have a shallow end, I don't think. Also the Olympics has a sepRate pool for diving so there's a separate one in the mansion too. The mansion is the Tardis.)

"Well how about we swim for a bit?" Topaz pointed to the diving pool. Or we could go diving."

RT nodded slowly, very well understanding that it was up to her own diamond to decide in the end. "Yeah... When we ever can get back to Homeworld, and if you go through that process, hopefully Yellow Diamond will see that there are enough techie Rubellites for her to spare one to go back to fighting. It won't affect too much, right?"

Hambergite looked between the swimming pool and diving pool. "Hm... How about swimming? I don't really know how to dive so well..."

"I doubt it would." Sidi put her hands behind her he'd and leaned back a bit, looking at the ceiling. "Say, Rubellite...that neutral gem you mentioned earlier. Where was her gem? Just curious."

(Sidi heard about Tope from some of BD's troops and got a description but never had direct contact with her)

"Isn't diving basically jumping in head first? I've seen humans do it before."

(Well there's a little more to it than that, Tope)

Given that there were already plenty enough techie RTs, RT thought that it wouldn't be too big an impact either. She could understand if there was a shortage if one happened to get shattered, but that wasn't the case. Though, when asked about the neutral gem, she replies like it's nothing. "Teardrop shape on a shoulder. Pink and such... said she was Topaz."

Hambergite shrugs lightly. "To some it is, but to others it can be seen as more of an art. There's a lot more to it than just jumping and going into the fool with the right form so you don't get hurt by landing on the water with you belly. That can hurt, some people said."

"I thought so. I heard about her but never actually met her." Sidi cleared her throat. "But enough about that. Do you want to spar or should we look around this place some?"

(Is it possible for two gems to poof each other? Though I was also thinking a brief accidental fusion. Like they fuse and then almost immediately defuse and Sidi suggests they keep it a secret between each other. Maybe that could be something that kicks off their feelings for each other but they're both confused and unsure at first. Kinda like with Ham and Tope. Ham has a puppy love crush she's being subtle about and Tope isn't entirely sure yet)

"Ah. So we could just swim for a bit and then go somewhere else. We're already soaked anyway." Topaz giggled.
